Flurecto tabletÂ
Indication
Flurecto is used for the treatment and control of flea and tick infestations in dogs, providing up to 12 weeks of continuous efficacy after a single oral administration. The formulation acts systemically as both an insecticide and an acaricide. It eliminates adult and juvenile ticks, including Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes hexagonus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes holocyclus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Dermacentor variabilis, and Rhipicephalus sanguineus, as well as the flea species Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis. Parasites must attach and start feeding to be exposed to fluralaner; the onset of activity occurs within 8 hours for fleas and 12 hours for ticks. Use of the product assists in reducing environmental flea burdens in areas frequented by treated animals. Flurecto may also be incorporated into management protocols for flea allergy dermatitis. It is also indicated for the treatment of demodicosis caused by Demodex canis and sarcoptic mange caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var. canis.
